The problems which can happen if a wife or girlfriend drags her husband or boyfriend along shopping this letter was recently sent by tesco's head office to a customer in oxford: dear mrs. murray , while we thank you for your valued custom and use of the tesco loyalty card, the manager of our store in banbury is considering banning you and your family from shopping with us, unless your husband stops his antics. below is a list of offences over the past few months all verified by our surveillance cameras: 1. june 15: took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's trolleys when they weren't looking. 2. july 2: set all the alarm clocks in housewares to go off at 5minute intervals. 3. july 7: made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to feminine products aisle. 4. july 19: walked up to an employee and told her in an official tone, "code 3" in housewares. and watched what happened. 5. august 14: moved a 'caution - wet floor' sign to a carpeted area. 6. september 15: set up a tent in the outdoor clothing department and told shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring sausages and a calor gas stove. 7. september 23: when the deputy manager asked if she could help him, he began to cry and asked, "why can't you people just leave me alone?" 8. october 4: looked right into the security camera; used it as a mirror, picked his nose, and ate it. 9. november 10: while appearing to be choosing kitchen knives in the housewares aisle asked an assistant if he knew where the antidepressants were. 10. december 3: darted around the store suspiciously, loudly humming the "mission impossible" theme. 11. december 6: in the kitchenware aisle, practised the "madonna look" using different size funnels. 12. december 18: hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed, yelled "pick me!" "pick me!" 13. december 21: when an announcement came over the loud speaker, assumed the foetal position and screamed "no! no! it's those voices again." and; last, but not least: 14. december 23: went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited a while; then yelled, very loudly, "there is no toilet paper in here." yours sincerely, charles brown store manager.

And sitting in tremor while the parent read his paper, and consumed his accustomed portion of muffins and tea. at half-past nine he rose and went to the city, and she was almost free till dinner-time, to make visitations in the kitchen, and to scold the servants: to drive abroad and descend upon the tradesmen, who were prodigiously respectful: to leave her cards and her papa's at the great glum respectable houses of their city friends; or to sit alone in the large drawingroom, expecting visitors; and working at a huge piece of worsted by the fire, on the sofa, hard by the great iphigenia clock, which ticked and tolled with mournful loudness in the dreary room. the great glass over the mantel-piece, faced by the other great console glass at the opposite end of the room, increased and multiplied between them the brown holland bag in which the chandelier hung; until you saw these brown holland bags fading away in endless perspectives, and this apartment of miss osborne's seemed the centre of a system of drawing-rooms. when she removed the cordovan leather from the grand piano, and ventured to play a few notes on it, it sounded with a mournful sadness, startling the dismal echoes of the house. george's picture was gone, and laid upstairs in a lumber-room in the garret; and though there was a consciousness of him, and father and daughter often instinctively knew that they were thinking of him, no mention was ever made of the brave and once darling son. at five o'clock mr. osborne came back to his dinner, which he and his daughter took in silence seldom broken, except when he swore and was savage, if the cooking was not to his liking ; , or which they shared twice in a month with a party of dismal friends of osborne's rank and age. old dr. gulp and his lady from bloomsbury square: old mr. frowser, the attorney, from bedford row, a very great man, and from his business, hand-in-glove with the "nobs at the west end; " old colonel livermore, of the bombay army, and mrs. livermore, from upper bedford place: old serjeant toffy and mrs. toffy; and sometimes old sir thomas coffin and lady coffin, from bedford square. sir thomas was celebrated as a hanging judge, and the particular tawny port was produced when he dined with mr. osborne. these people and their like gave the pompous russell square merchant pompous dinners back again. they had solemn rubbers of whist, when they went upstairs after drinking, and their carriages were called at half-past ten. many rich people, whom we poor devils are in the habit of envying, lead contentedly an existence like that above described. jane osborne scarcely ever met a man under sixty, and almost the only bachelor who appeared in their society was mr. smirk, the celebrated ladies' doctor. i can't say that nothing had occurred to disturb the monotony of this awful existence: the fact is, there had been a secret in poor jane's life which had made her father more savage and morose than even nature, pride, and over-feeding had made him. this secret was connected with miss wirt, who had a cousin an artist, mr. smee, very celebrated since as a portrait-painter and r.a., but who once was glad enough to give drawing-lessons to ladies of fashion. mr. smee has forgotten where russell square is now, but he was glad enough to visit it in the year 1818, when miss osborne had instruction from him. smee formerly a pupil of sharpe of frith street, a dissolute, irregular, and unsuccessful man, but a man with great knowledge of his art ; being the cousin of miss wirt, we say, and introduced by her to miss osborne, whose hand and heart were still free after various incomplete love affairs, felt a great attachment for this lady, and it is believed inspired one in her bosom. miss wirt was the confidante of this intrigue. i know not whether she used to leave the room where the master and his pupil were painting, in order to give them an opportunity for exchanging those vows and sentiments which cannot be uttered advantageously in the presence of a third party: i know not whether she hoped that should her cousin succeed in carrying off the rich merchant's daughter, he would give miss wirt a portion of the wealth which she had enabled him to win--all that is certain is, that mr. osborne got some hint of the.
Forgave him. anyway, at the time the hercules was a highly practical concept. with both the mars and the hk-1, and various other designs that were worked on after the war, the payload versus range comparisons showed the flying boat far and away superior to a conventional land plane of similar size. if you were trying to sell a project of any kind you had to make a comparison computation and on top of that a performance and utilization computation. but that's all technical stuff. i worked like a son of a bitch: that's what it boils down to. i'd never tackled anything that big, and i don't mean just in size. they had another name for the hercules besides the flying lumberyard and hughes's folly and the spruce goose. the guys who were working on it called it "the jesus christ" -- because every time they got a new workman in there, or some senator or one of the government engineers came to the hangar for the first time, he'd look up. the tail assembly was nine or ten stories high. and the first thing the guy would say was, "jesus christ!" cost was another thorny issue. the government put up million and i personally, out of my own pocket, chipped in an additional seven million. so the initial costs were around million. since then it's been even more. but i want to point out to you that in 1949 the british built what was supposed to be the largest land plane in the world, the brabazon. its wingspan was only 230 feet as compared with the hk-1's wingspan of 320 feet. it flew only briefly -- the british didn't know what the hell they were doing. labor troubles hurt them badly, just like now. i could have given them a few pointers, but it was the old story of every country wanting to be top dog. it cost them million. believe me, i could afford the money more than the british empire could. i also pointed out, then and later on, that a plane of this size and concept would be a magnificent research laboratory and well worth the government's investment. they built the b19, you know, a plane that never saw service, and it paved the way for the b-29 which helped win the war for us. so there was a precedent, and the army knew it as well as i did. but the army didn't care about how much money i forked out or what this plane might lead to. it wasn't just that i'd flown over wright field without stopping, or that i'd worn pajamas under my suit -- it went deeper than that. i was an independent. i didn't kiss their asses and play the games that other manufacturers played, and i didn't make the automatic assumption that because a man was a general in the u.s. army air corps he knew everything there was to know about airplanes. a lot of them flew in world war one and were still thinking in terms of strafing and dogfights. they were the equivalent of the old-line army generals who thought the second world war was going to be fought in trenches. i wasn't supposed to be as smart as they were, but i was a hell of a lot more knowledgeable when it came to talking about aircraft design. and i was under forty and rich and had a sense of independence. so they said, "there's a young punk multimillionaire who wants to build warplanes as a hobby." i never baited them. i never told them what i thought of them. but they probably could see it in my eyes. they hate anybody who's different, the same as these eastern banking people. you know there was one guy involved with one of those banking houses trying to round up the money to help twa who made a public statement which just about summed up the attitude of the eastern establishment, wall street, washington, and the army. he said that you can't do business with a lunatic who wants to meet you in parked cars and men's rooms to talk about 80 and anime poker.

"our coo is a former ford dealer, david kain, and our dealer operations v-p, leo hillock, was general manager of autonation's maroone ford in florida. "there are five dealers on forddirect's board and no one here or in the company wants to compete with or throttle any dealer's own internet strategy. forddirect is absolutely of, by and for ford dealers and sales of ford vehicles." while not ford dealers, though they are aware of gm's start-up pilot of a parallel web site to forddirect in washington, dc, price and marsh are multi-brand operators who learned through trial-and-error experiences why initial internet thinking led to mistakes and how "best practices" evolved from those errorsan experience most dealers have encountered. one common problem, said rikess, was "a lack of understanding and appreciation of how the internet really works from the highest levels in manufacturers' ranks. field managers see the internet as competition for ad dollarsand if dealers spend more money with lead generators or on their own sites, less money will be used in local newspapers." a second hurdle, marsh and price found, was over-reliance on early factory sites where entrenched bureaucracies left web customers waiting for decisions and responses. Some sense or other. i know that this will never happen, but the thought still crosses my mind occasionally. `never again' does sound a bit mental the way the words go off on extended leave what's happening there? ray: i'm exercising my vocal cords. i needed a song on this album where i pointlessly extended words and this was it. i do it shine from four corners ; as well so there's precedence. overall the record s ; seems a lot about emotions wafting in the dark night of the tortured soul, yes? how much of this is goth song writing tradition, a gloriously mournful thing in itself, how much a definite desire to admit to disasters regrets? and all you feel is anguish. bone numbing anguish. not nice stuff and i really bloody glad i'm out of the other side of it. rob: i helped write some of the lyrics on this song, but for me the relationship was one that i had thought existed between god and myself, back in the days when i believed that a god existed. this was also a really bad relationship, as relationships with imaginary beings can often be. then `another day' i thought you were referring to someone dying initially, but wondering where someone is tends to make that unlikely? danny: rob and ray can be more precise about it, but i find the beauty of this song is that it leave room for more than one interpretation. ray: i'll let rob answer that one. although i sing it as if was my life that this happened in, it is actually about something in rob's like. rob: it is about someone dying, although i'd rather not go into specifics. often, when someone dies, it is difficult to comprehend that you will never see that person again, and it is not unusual to wonder if in fact you might see them again, in danny: personally, i have stopped wanting to write something obviously goth many years ago. it just comes out the way it does; that'll teach me to listen to that sort of stuff so much while growing up i suppose, some things are now permanently etched in me and i can't seem to free myself from! ray: that it is. tortured soul, dark nights. makes me feel like a goth all over again. personally, my lyrics are mostly about the bad side of a relationship, which was all my life really was for so long. that's all i could actually think about, obsessively, for almost two years. the only song that isn't about that is alive and i write that as i was freeing myself from it. i must confess though that it's really nice to be singing a song and actually knowing what it is i'm going on about. i didn't get that much in four corners but thankfully it's been corrected now. rob: i think a lot of lyrics are about blaming other people for the stuff that goes wrong in our own lives. i prefer lyrics that examine things a bit more carefully, and often this means accepting where we've created our own disasters. it is obviously more difficult for us to deal with the fact that we have ruined our own lives, and writing about how we did it can be a useful experience. i think also, it makes for better lyrics, even if they are gloriously mournful or poker faq.
Once again, the texas general land office has cancelled the scheduled auction of the 9, 269 acre christmas mountains tract located in south brewster county by rejecting all six bids received for the property. the two high bids were 2, 000 made by the louis waters family of houston, and 9, 828 made by john poindexer of houston. the glo did not reject the bids due to inadequacy, but cited errors in the map used during the bid process as the reason for rejecting the standing bids. the glo said it would re-bid the property for the meeting of its school land board meeting in november. "this is a fortunate mistake, " said jerry patterson, glo commissioner, "because it will give texans an opportunity to become more informed about why this land should be conveyed to a good steward. there's a lot of willful ignorance driven by blind partisan rancor related to this sale. i think once texans understand that conservation and public benefit will result from this sale they'll support it." the land sale had proceeded with scant notice outside the big bend until mid-september when the austin american-statesman and the houston chronicle reported that the original donors on the land, the mellon foundation and and strip poker download.

Her feelings. "i'm sorry--i'm just not as impressed with you as everyone else seems to be." "and i'm sorry you feel that way." callie's friends knew better than to get involved in a mother-daughter cat fight, so the table remained uncomfortably silent for what seemed like an eternity. finally, zoey broke the tension by asking the girls about their plans for the christmas holiday. alexia's extended family--meaning hordes of stepbrothers and sisters--were gathering in malibu. some years she wondered exactly who her stepparents were as they seemed to change as often as the daily news. danielle's family would be having a traditional hampton holiday, which she found incredibly boring. and bianca would spend most of the time playing hostess in her father's restaurant. granted, it was an upscale restaurant, but bianca was the only one in the group whose family actually expected her to do work. most of the girls at ridgecrest prep didn't even have to do the dishes! they had maids for that. but bianca's was a rather old-fashioned italian family, and the only way to get out of doing chores was to either blackmail one of her older brothers or beat them to a pulp, which didn't happen very often. danielle finally asked, "so what are you two doing?" zoey answered before callie could make another snide remark. "we're going skiing.in aspen. our reservations were confirmed this morning." "what? really?" callie asked in a rush, both delighted and apprehensive at the same time. "yep, roxanne called me with the confirmation number while i was waiting for you." "and what are the odds this time, mother?" "i'll cover any bets you place, " zoey answered smugly, knowing her daughter was way too good a poker faq player for a young debutante. "my agent cleared the whole month, and we're going! i promise." callie's face broke into the first real smile they had seen since arriving at the restaurant, and the remainder of the meal passed in happy chatter. she even reminded her mother to sign an autograph for the waiter.
Delta issues: fresno court weighs the future of fish and farms california farm bureau federation 8 29 07 kate campbell, assistant editor a trial that is currently under way in federal district court in fresno could have a major impact on what crops are produced in california next year and how much drinking water is available for 25 million californians. the trial aims to find interim measures for protecting threatened delta smelt, with environmentalists urging curtailment of pumps that supply water to federal and state delivery systems. because of the importance of this trial to farms throughout the san joaquin valley , farmers pulled off during harvest and took turns sitting in the courtroom so there would be continuous monitoring of the proceeding. frank coelho, who grows a variety of crops on the west side in fresno and kings counties, said, "it's important to be here because depending on the court's ruling we could be facing a catastrophe. if water deliveries are curtailed, farms will have to shut down and so will the surrounding towns." court proceedings were halted last friday due to a participating attorney's personal emergency. the trial resumes this week before u.s. district judge oliver w. wanger and is expected to last several days.

Manager for alliant energy, another event sponsor. hormel has several local business relationships that help to create spin-off jobs. "not only do our employees spend their paychecks in the area, but ; we get our chemicals from ecolab in south beloit ; , " lee said. pallets, he added, are purchased from a beloit company. while the food-processing industry continues to grow, rod nilsestuen, the secretary of the wisconsin department of agriculture, trade, and consumer protection, warned expo participants about the pitfalls of careless development. "when you have gas at a gallon, nobody needs to be told there are energy issues, " nilsestuen said in the event's keynote address. "for the food and agriculture industries -- energy-intensive industries -- that has major impact." nilsestuen's speech, titled "food vs. fuels, " stressed the importance of energy-conscious business plans in a competitive global economy. he noted there have been positive developments in the industry in that regard. "i've been told kettle chips runs its whole fleet on biodiesel, and that's a good thing, " he said. "we're interested in growing this bio-economy in an intelligent way." but, he added, "we need to slow the loss of our most precious natural resource: land." judy meyer, the midwest food processing association's member services manager, said the industry is aware of such issues. "going green is big, " she said, along with programs researching converting waste into energy. according to eley, alliant energy has instituted programs to help its food-processing customers reduce energy consumption. "as a provider of utilities to all these companies, it's important to us to have programs to help save energy." eley said. with a new focus on green development and energy conservation, george is certain the food-processing industry will continue to grow throughout the stateline area. "i know of at least one company that's looking at the area, " he said, adding that food processors in beloit are "not only producing food for local consumption, " but "distributing it internationally, and in doing so keeping the local economy strong." according to loudenbeck, available space is one of the reasons the stateline area remains attractive to food-processing businesses. "in a city like chicago, there aren't sites available, " loudenbeck said. "it's something we needed in beloit for economic development.
